The Reverend Canon Stephen Silverthorne

As our rector, Fr. Stephen oversees most of the day-to-day operations of our church. This includes regular preaching and worship leadership. Stephen grew up in Vancouver, but has lived in Ontario for most of his adult life. He has been a priest since 2002, and has served in many parishes throughout the Diocese of Ottawa. Stephen particularly enjoys preaching, teaching and children’s ministry. He is married, and has four daughters. He began his ministry at St. Paul’s in November 2020.

The Reverend Canon Dr. William Prentice

The Rev. Canon Dr. William E. Prentice, Fr. Bill, or just Bill, has been an Honorary Assistant at St. Paul’s, Kanata-Hazeldean since 1997. Fr. Bill is now retired, he served the Diocese of Ottawa as Director, Parish and Diocesan Services – work that connected him to most of the non-parish based ministries in our broader Diocesan family. Originally from Winnipeg, his undergrad years were spent at St. John’s College, the University of Manitoba, his seminary years at Trinity College, Toronto, and his doctoral degree is jointly conferred by the University of Toronto and Trinity College. He has served several congregations in several Dioceses, including Rupert’s Land, Algoma, Toronto, Western Newfoundland, Moosonee, and since 1997, here in Ottawa. He married Joyce Prentice in 1974. Bill and Joyce have an ever growing family, including Jeremy, Yan and Winston, Fred, Elizabeth, Emma and Evan, and Stirling and Teresa.

Darlene Glason

Darlene is our parish administrator joining the St. Paul’s team in August of 2020. Darlene has extensive experience as an office administrator and manager. She has worked in both the private and public sectors. Over the years she has worked for Members of Parliament, large and small businesses, and a couple of charitable organizations. She lives in Dunrobin on a small acreage.

David Santry

David Santry is the Music Director at St. Paul’s. As a graduate from the University of Ottawa’s Bachelor’s of Music program, David has had many opportunities to better his musical knowledge studying under Andrew Tunis and Jean-Paul Sevilla with masterclasses by Karen Holmes and Thomas Annand. His versatility in his musical studies has helped him with his musical services with the church. David has had the opportunity to be Music Director and Organist at Anglican, Lutheran, United and Seventh-Day Adventist churches in the Ottawa area over the past 17 years.

Allison Barnum

As our Children’s Ministry Co-ordinator at St. Paul’s, Allison has a passion for bringing God’s love to children and young people. She has extensive experience in this area and has been a Youth Group leader and a Sunday School teacher, leader and co-ordinator in several parishes throughout Ottawa. She truly believes that bringing God into our children’s lives and letting them know how much they are valued by God and in our parish is of upmost importance. When not working with our parish children Allison loves being a Mum to her daughters and spending time with her grandchildren!! Allison began as Co-ordinator in September 2024.
